We won 1st Place and Popular Vote in a framing competition held in Traverse City, Mi this weekend!!!!!!!!
The competition theme was " Home Is Where Your Heart Is".
We were to frame something that showed what is great about our town or community. So, we combined our love of U.P. history and one of things Marquette (as well as the rest of the Upper Peninsula) was built on... timber. **This photo titled "World's Fair Load of Logs - Largest Load of Logs Ever Pulled by Two Horses, circa 1893" was thoughtfully chosen from our Superior View Historic Photo Collection.
We will have the framing back in our possession May 15th, so stop on in and see it first hand!
This is a really cool custom frame job! I love that you used elements in the picture, like the pile of logs, to come up with a concept for the wooden boarder and frame. Can most custom framing shops do this kind of detailed work for a client?

ReplyDeleteThat is seriously an amazing idea for a picture frame! I like how it's 3-dimensional. The wood circles look just like regular polka dots from a distance. When you get up close, you start to see the individual wood grains. So amazing!
