All NMU students receive 10% off framing (art for shows only)
You also get 10% off Art Supplies.
Believe me, our prices are better than the BIG BOX store.
If you happen to find something that is a better price elsewhere, come in, prove it to me, and you'll still get 10% off!
Also, if you have your own mat board cut to size, and you need an opening cut into it, we only charge $2 per opening. Usually, we can do it for you in the same day.

Start the New Year with Vintage Art

http://www.liebermans.net/ProductandServices/Products/Product.aspx?keywords=vintage
Today we would like to feature "Vintage" Style art for your home.
Above, is a link to different Vintage ad posters. It will display several (probably hundreds) of different styles and themes. Sometimes the Liebermans website can run slow, so if you are on dial-up it will be tortureously slow.
We can always help you in your search for cool Vintage art, all you have to do is let us know!

wonderfully busy
I've been wanting to post more info here!
We are so busy with orders that, I'm afraid I'll have to wait to post anything GOOD until after Christmas weekend.
I do have one artist I want to share with you. He is a photographer and I think he will be making his mark here in Marquette very, very soon. But, alas you'll have to wait for a week or so, as I do need to get his permission to post his art (also to get his images on this here computer).
Have a great holiday! We're taking off on Saturday for Illinois to spend time with Tom's side of the family and we'll be back Tuesday to open shop! :)

What's worse? Slivers or Shots.
I pulled a small sliver from my pinky finger today. It reminded me briefly of a framing injury I had in the winter of '97. I was living in Kalamazoo and worked at a shop named Frames and Things. Great place to work.
Anyways, I was trimming some printed charts for Stryker Industries. I was using a very large straight edge ruler, and a very fresh, sharp razor blade. Well, somewhere along the way my left thumb got in the way as I was making a straight pass cutting thru this chart. It all happened so fast and didn't really feel anything until I saw the blood... I remember cursing and apologized to Nellie (my boss) for swearing. I held my hand over the garbage until she got me a rag to wrap around my finger. I needed to get a tetanis shot, just in case, ya know? So, Nellie drove me to her doctor where they bandaged me up real tightly and gave me a shot.
I still have the scar on my thumb, which doesn't look as scary as the story was.

A few of our favorite frames
Metal Frames are not always my favorite type of frame
, but this line is sooo cool. They are 11/2" wide and each are made with pure Pewter, Nickle, Persian Gold, Copper, Bronze, Zinc or Iron. Also available in narrower profiles.

Middle Photo: Here is the Antiqua line of frames. Frames shown here are a little over an inch wide, but also available are 2" and 3" wide!
I love how they look like tree bark. This frame looks great on nature inspired pictures.
Bottom Photo: These three frames are from the Bolshoi (Bowl-shoy) Collection and are 3" wide. Go BOL-shoi!

Woof, Sniff, Lick.
I'm Perry, a 10 month old Collie, Springer, and other breeds we don't know mix... I am the Art of Framing shopdog (in training).
I come to work with Tom and Stacie everyday. I get to stay in a big room in the back of the store where I have a couch and TV (so I can watch soap opera's) with lots of toys to shred.
I get too excited when I am around people and would probably try to jump on you to get a closer look/sniff at you. That's why I have my special room in the back.
Look forward to updates about Art of Framing!
Perry
