November window display - an ode to hunters

We're moving right along through November.
So, you know what that means..?

Hunting!!
I thought it would be most appropriate to design our display window with a "hunting" theme. Complete with a passed out hunter on the right... tongue in cheek of course

These historic photos depicting the way hunting was in the U.P. would be seriously perfect for your (or a friends) camp.

Just a nice quick update on how close we are in putting Superior Views' historic photographs in our shop. 

Our goal to have these legendary photos ready for sale, is 2 weeks!!! Maybe less.

Green Bay Packers (1992-2007)

Brett Favre played 16 seasons in Green Bay. During his time in Green Bay, Favre was the first NFL player to win three consecutive AP MVP awards. The only player to win four AP MVP Awards is Peyton Manning. He helped the Packers appear in two Super Bowls, winning Super Bowl XXXI. Favre also started every Green Bay Packers game from September 20, 1992, to January 20, 2008. 

Framing NMU hockey jersey

Well, Brian French, owner of Aubree's Pizza brought in an NMU hockey jersey worn by the team captain, Phil Fox!  

Bring us your favorite hockey, baseball, football etc, jersey and let us frame it for you. You can add photos, tickets, patches or pucks. Really anything you'd like displayed with it, we can find a way to incorporate it into your design.

Also, we framed a miniature hockey stick for Aubree's sports bar. To jazz it up, we added some extra design elements to make it look sporty and interesting!

Signature mat with frame

My cousin got married this weekend and I made her and her now husband a Signature mat with frame.

It's the coolest way to display your wedding picture and see your guest book all in one!

Later they can place their favorite wedding photo in it...

This is also a really fun idea for other events such as Wedding Anniversary -- Graduations -- Birthdays -- Moving Away parties -- Class Reunions... Whatever you can think of!

Here is the latest "pet" framing we have done.

Art of Framing wants to help UPAWS (Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter) all year round and we need your help.

Here is how it works:

You bring in a photo or a painting or anything with your pet in the image (does not have to be a pet adopted at UPAWS, but does have to be your pet) to be custom framed and we'll give 10% of that sale to UPAWS.

Yes! We have many solid cherry frames, solid oak (some decorative, some modern, some very rustic), and others that you just have to see. Is there anything better than supporting products that are made in our country? probably not :)

Lastly, NMU students, just a reminder that we have art supplies!! 10% everything with your student ID - including custom framing. aaaaaaannnndd if you need an opening cut in your mat we can do that while you wait for $2 each opening.

hard to find nita engle prints

I've found a couple of hard to find Nita Engle prints.

The first one is Daisy Bay, published in 1989.
This signed and numbered edition is 533/950.
You can view it, and purchase it unframed for $500 at Art of Framing, downtown Marquette.
It is in Mint condition. This item is SOLD 4/7/09



Wild Rose Point is the other sold out and hard to find Signed and Numbered print.
We have it right here at Art of Framing.
The edition size is 68/950 and was published in 1995.
Unframed print price $180. This item is SOLD 4/24/09
It is also in mint condition.
